Introduction to River Rescue Class

May 23, 2015

Course Objectives - To introduce and practice river rescue skills in moving water.

Who - course is designed for anyone interested in learning river safety skills.
Where - Jim Falls WI
When - Saturday, May 23, 10:00 - 4:30

Minimum Requirements
This class is open to anyone with a desire to learn about river safety and rescue. Students are required to meet Hard Water Sports’ essential eligibility requirements.

Bring with you to class:
PFD, Helmet, Whistle
throw bag - river knife(if you have)
River shoes or appropriate substitute
Clothing for cold water - plan for in water activities
Water Bottle - Snacks

Class will have a scheduled 30 minute break for
lunch

Advanced Swift-water Rescue Class

June 7, 2015

Course Objectives - To teach and practice advance river rescue techniques with a focus on foot entrapments and group dynamics.

Who - course is designed for river guiding professionals, avid whitewater paddlers.
Where - Kettle River, Banning State Park
When - Sunday, June 7, 10:00 - 4:30

Minimum Requirements
Class III whitewater paddler with at least 2 years of whitewater paddling. Students must have a knowledge of river hazards and meet Hard Water Sports’ essential eligibility requirements.

Bring with you to class:
throw bag - river knife
clothing for cold water - plan for in water activities
PFD, Helmet, Whistle
Water Bottle - Snacks

Class will have a scheduled 30 minute break for
lunch
